Blog – This will take awhile…
by Cosmo on Nov.03, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
Dragon Age: Origins finally came out and i’m writing this message at 6:25 AM after alt-tabbing out of it. I swear, this has got to be one of the best RPG in years. Short of The Witcher, i’ve missed playing a good compelling blend of gameplay and storytelling in the last couple of years. This might come as high praise but i assure you it is not in vain. Jeez, i’m even starting to talk like ye’olde’english folk. Anyhows, i’ll try to keep up a regular newsposting but before a reviewer or a gaming blogger, i’m a gamer.
Time for sleep, then wake up and set forth into the great unknown, saving maidens and having lesbian sex with them. HUZZAH!
Blog – So i’ve been killing on the floor this weekend..
by Cosmo on Oct.25, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
.. with Killing Floor. The free offer on Steam and the fact that i had just came off playing and finishing Risen made me try it out. The game is a sort of Counter-Strike meets Left 4 Dead’s Survival mode with the focus on actually surviving rather then meeting a time frame. [continue reading...]
Blog – Unupdateness
by Cosmo on Oct.21, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
I know i haven’t kept up with the daily news for the last couple of days, but i’ve been a tad busy. I’ll try to make an update tonight. Also, writing down the Risen review which is long overdue. Patience.
Blog – The face! It’s horrible!
by Cosmo on Oct.16, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
I’ve recently been tweaking a bit with the freshly launched Dragon Age character creator, and i’ve made an interesting discovery. I can only create human specimens with faces that only their mothers would love.
Blog – Risen has risen.
by Cosmo on Sep.30, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
I didn’t get caught up in the hype around Risen much, and you can imagine that when i tried it a few hours ago, i went in with little in terms of expectations. Pirahna Byte’s previous project, Gothic 3, left me quite uneasy and holding a very broken and unpolished game. Instead, we now have Risen, the spiritual successor of the Gothic series, taken in a similar setting, but with a different style. The game is very much reminiscent of our 2001/2003 favorite RPG, with familiar controls, dialogue system and general gameplay, but really touched up and having all the elements sprinkled nicely around making this a delicious treat. I’m not meaning to make this a review, but i’ll just say that i’m quite impressed and hoping to get many hours of fun out of it.
Blog – Resident Evil 5 is just absolutely…
by Cosmo on Sep.15, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
.. crap.
This is my first real incursion in the Resident Evil franchise, after playing some RE4 at a friends for a whole 5 minutes, and i thoroughly expected it to be atleast decent. The T&A department was there, the zombies were there, the guns were there. Even at the worst, how bad can it be?
Flash News – Swine flu at PAX

We often think plagues and disaster only trouble the little men on our little TV screens. But that’s not the case. Although it’s true that we hear about these things on national TV, in the papers and hear people talk about it, after a while it becomes ‘the norm’ and we start to ignore it, like we do commercials and other stuff we learn to filter out. In the end it’s just not real until it hits home. Human nature i guess.
So people, be safe, stay sharp and be careful.
Editorial: Metaskill and playerskill – Why you suck in games
by Cosmo on Sep.05, 2009, under Cosmo's Blog
Have you ever played a game in multiplayer and got your ass kicked? Of course you did, we all have. But did you ever think why that happened?
Multiplayer gaming is competitive and can be very brutal. In some games it actually seems impossible to get better because you get pummeled into the ground faster then you can say “pummeled into the ground”. Also, you might actually stick to playing only certain types of games, because you know that if you start playing RTS’s or simulations online you will lose. So far you’ve described it as a ‘barrier’ or stuck to the usual defense of ”i just don’t play those games”. But is it the game’s fault, or yours?
Greetings, stay a while and listen
