Review – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2
Nov.19, 2009
The first Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a huge blockbuster hit with a ton of sales and wide positive critic approval. The game packaged a great single player experience with awesome multiplayer gameplay. Modern Warfare 2 sets out to not only do that but top it off with a co-op mode, great visuals and music, high quality multiplayer and a diamond-crafter level of polish. Did it succeed? Read on.

Blog – I won’t argue about short games anymore…
Nov.13, 2009
So i’ve been playing a bit of Dragon Age: Origins lately. Ok, if we were to define “a bit” as 30 hours, then most likely i’ve been playing “a tad”. Now if “a tad” would be 50 hours, then i think i’ve played a tad and a half a bit. Yeah, been playing Dragon Age: Origins for about 68 hours now and i’m barely 30% in the main story, as the game quaintly says on my ‘Heroic Achievements’ page. Sweet Jesus, i don’t think i’ve played a game this long since Morrowind, and Morrowind was pretty much a summer affair of playing 24/7 for three months. Though, as Morrowind, i’m liking Dragon Age.
Quite a lot actually. Even though initially i was very put off by the ‘multi-party’ system, and a lot of flashbacks to Baldur’s Gate 2, i’ve managed to get a handle on it, and while initially the game was mindbendingly hard, seems i’ve now tamed the beast and find the battles to be between normal and challanging. While the game really does span a long way and has a lot to do in it, i would have appreciated if they would have split that over multiple areas, in a larger map. Initially when i saw the map i was already imagining going to the Free Marches or south in the Wildlands, and even beyond. Sadly, our adventures take place just in our little ’county’ of Ferelden (i hope i got that right, since i totally suck with remebering names).
I won’t say much here since i’ll prolly devolve and start making a review.. on a game i have not even finished. And that’d be unprofessional. :p The review will be up when it will be up, and as for the rest of the list.. The Void, Modern Warfare 2, Torchlight and all the other games that will come out between now and when i finish it, they will have to wait in line like good little games.
Anyhows, i got monsters to kill, loot to plunder and men to shag!
… Yes, i’m playing a female char.

Flash News – Unreal Engine 3 FREE!
Nov.05, 2009
Unreal Engine 3, one of the industries most used third-party game engine has now gone FREE.
This is major news, all besides the obvious “mods made on the engine can now be redistributed without the original UT3 game”. All new companies have an excelent engine on which to forge their game and since all the deal requires is that Epic Games get 25% off after the first 5000$ made by a game, it all comes down cheaper then buying the license first hand. Really this is great news for indie developers world-wide and we’ll see a huge tide of great games and mods coming out of apparently nowhere. Props.

Blog – This will take awhile…
Nov.03, 2009
Dragon Age: Origins finally came out and i’m writing this message at 6:25 AM after alt-tabbing out of it. I swear, this has got to be one of the best RPG in years. Short of The Witcher, i’ve missed playing a good compelling blend of gameplay and storytelling in the last couple of years. This might come as high praise but i assure you it is not in vain. Jeez, i’m even starting to talk like ye’olde’english folk. Anyhows, i’ll try to keep up a regular newsposting but before a reviewer or a gaming blogger, i’m a gamer.
Time for sleep, then wake up and set forth into the great unknown, saving maidens and having lesbian sex with them. HUZZAH!

Review – Borderlands
Oct.30, 2009
Some games pride themselves on storyline. Some game pride themselves on great visuals. Some even pride themselves on being new and unique. Borderlands prides itself on delivering, pure, raw, unadulterated fun mixed in with a healthy dose of loot. Lots of loot. Tons of loot. Did i also mention gore? And laughter-inducing death animations? This game stands in a category i like to call “Awesome” simply because it strives to be that way, without falling in the “Lame Awesome” category. The only way it could be more awesome is if it had a gun that ’shoots shurikens and lighting’ as Yahtzee might say. Wait.. On second thought, it might have one.
